St. Germain is elderflower liquor - what is elderflower you ask? We have absolutely no idea. We went to the St. Germain website for a little insight into the exact description of this so-called 'elderflower' and here is what they had to say...
"Neither passionfruit nor pear, grapefruit nor lemon, the sublime taste of St-Germain hints at each of these and yet none of them exactly. It is a flavor as subtle and delicate as it is captivating. A little like asking a hummingbird to describe the flavor of its favorite nectar. Très curieux indeed, n'est-ce pas?"
Which leads us right back to where we started...absolutely no idea. ;) And while we have no idea how the hummingbird fits in, we are indeed captivated. For those of you that enjoy cocktails with cucumber or lychee this could be a great new drink for you! Next time you're in the mood for something on the sparkly side, we highly recommend this delicious little beverage.
