Animal Prints: Po's Look

Diane Von Furstenberg once said that there is "nothing more feminine and flattering than a leopard print" and I could not agree more.   It's feminine, powerful and over the years has become my most reliable wardrobe pick-me-up.  It has transformed more days than I can count from feeling corn chips and coca-cola to champagne and caviar  (okay okay - not champagne and caviar - but definitely worthy of food that can't be purchased at a drug store.)

While I own leopard in an unnecessary variety of forms (t-shirts, scarves, bags...seriously, it's getting a little absurd) I decided to go with this leopard print maxi dress for Head to Toe's first animal print post.  It's a recent and delightfully affordable purchase that can be worn glam'd up for night or dressed down for day.  Here I've kept things simple with a lariat necklace and black clutch, but if that's not your style this dress also looks great with a black blazer and heels or a jean jacket and casual sandals.

I hope you enjoy.

Half way through shooting this look the sun came out...I'm going to take that as a sign that Mother Nature approves. :)

Animal Prints: Some Inspiration for Your Wild Side

Where do we even begin...  Forget a blog post, we could write a book on all the reasons we love leopard print, but seeing as that book would have a circulation of 4 (us and our mothers - hi mom!) we will do our best to keep it short and sweet.

There's a reason the most stylish women in the world are frequently photographed wearing this iconic print. It's both classic and edgy, but most of all it's a non-girly way of being completely feminine. I mean hey, Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Kate Bosworth and Rachel Bilson can't all be wrong.

Below are a few of our favorite ways to incorporate leopard in your look, regardless of where you're headed...none of which suggest that place is either a Safari or the zoo.

Bar Rafaeli (black blazer, jean shorts, bad ass boots and a leopard scarf) wearing four of our favorite items and all at one time.

The French blogger, Cherry Blossom Girl, injects a little leopard into an otherwise very prim and proper ensemble.

Atlantic-Pacific blogger shows us two ways to wear leopard.  The first a subtle sweater with some not-so-subtle leather shorts.  The second a leopard skirt paired with bright red accents and a nautical shirt.

Sienna Miller looking office appropriate in a leopard pencil skirt, black pumps and a black sweater set...

...and now something slightly less office appropriate (via fabsugar.com).

All out model glam, glass of champagne included...

And last, but not least, the icon herself in head to toe leopard with the perfect NYC back drop.
